Ms. Leisenring asked Varenhorst to design a solution to almost entirely reconstruct her existing home, located on prime North East River-front land, to provide her with a second home that allows her to enjoy the bucolic surroundings and to host family and other guests for the summer.  The resulting 3100 SF house has an open first floor plan that spills out onto a new patio with optimized, panoramic views to the River. The contemporary kitchen, with custom hickory and painted ash millwork and wall panels, allows preparation with connection to the rest of the first floor, lending itself to entertaining guests.
