The SS United States Conservancy approached Varenhorst to conduct a feasibility study and a joint cost-estimate preparation with Keating Building Corporation to determine the viability of adaptive re-use of the retired cruise liner SS United States as a hotel expansion and restaurant venue on the Delaware River alongside the existing Penn’s Landing site.  In addition to the ship-board program, our proposed masterplan tailors the complementary land-side program, creating a synthetic urban design solution.
